IPark 84 – Building 322 Demolition
Whiting-Turner has awarded Highground Industrial,LLC to perform extensive demolition work at the 290,000 square foot building 322 facility located within IPark 84 in Fishkill, NY
The building was previously used for computer chip manufacturing and housed large clean room environments. The project initially involves extensive pre-gut work to recover electrical equipment, extensive clean room air handling equipment and scrap metal. Following the pre-gut ,Highground will perform an intricate and careful separation of a portion of the building designated to remain from the major section slated for demolition along a 300 foot long column line. Additional precision demolition work includes the careful protection of adjacent utility and chemical transport piping located in an overhead trestle/gantry support system located external to the building but in close proximity along the 575 foot long east wall.
IPark 84 is the former IBM east campus in Fishkill,NY, situated on 300 acres of land with over two-million square feet of buildings and is to become one of NRE’s signature IParks, a branded mixed-use tech /flex redevelopment with retail, hotel and residential components.
